Sooners Win Game 1 of WCWS Championship

NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 21-ranked Oklahoma softball team defeated archrival Texas 8-3 in Game 1 of the 2024 Women's College World Series championship on Wednesday night. The Sooners are now one win away from their fourth straight national title.

Maxwell Shines for Sooners

Oklahoma pitcher Kelly Maxwell was dominant in the circle, allowing just three runs on six hits over seven innings. She struck out six batters and did not walk a single batter. Maxwell's performance was key in keeping the Sooners in the game.
